Over the course of the two years I have had the chance to take part in some live projects working with clients what has helped me to gain some real life experience.
Some of the live projects that I have taken part in include:
Pageturner - Each year the Turner Contemporary in Margate hold a competition where student and tutors can enter their work to win prizes and to be displayed in the Turner. In the first year I got short listed for my entry. The theme for that year was courage and determination where I designed a typographic Olympic torch. Because I got shortlisted I was invited to a evening where the prizes were awarded and we got to look at other peoples work.
Paperchase - As part of my Christmas project we got to work with the card company Paperchase to design a Christmas card that would be sold in their stores across the country. One of my designs won. Paperchase paid me £100 and got sold in all the stores over the 2012 Christmas period.

Olympic Poster design - We got an opportunity to take part in designing a poster to promote the Olympics in 2012. Someone came to our college where we got to interact and create some mind maps to come up with ideas to think out of the box to promote the 2012 London Olympics. The winner got to go up to London to take part in some work shops with professional designers.

John Dent - John Dent the deputy principle of Canterbury College approached a few of us to create some posters to try and get teachers to inspire their students. I designed a information graphics poster with a mind map on a chalk board. I decided to do this type of poster because I thought that the chalkboard would bring back memories to the tutors and they would remember their teachers that inspired them. My final design will be displayed around the college next year. For my poster I received a £20 gift voucher for Next.
The Canterbury Festival - I got a chance to design a design that would go on the front of the Canterbury Festival brochure. My design did not get picked though.
I also got some commissions outside of the college to design a two posters for two different concerts. The first concert was a Christmas concert for the Central Band of the Royal British Legion. The second concert that I got to design for was the Gurkha Festival at Easter.
I also got to design a charity poster for a local panto.
I have recently been commissioned to create the poster for this years Central Band of the Royal British Legion concert.
